OneCompassion hosts and coordinates various events and volunteer opportunities throughout the year through our Build Ministry, Holiday Ministry, Volunteer Ministry, and OneTable events. These ministries exist to help meet the needs of people in our community, and our desire is that we would not only impact and build up the people we come in contact with through these ministries, but also share with them the love of Christ. These events are made possible by the gracious donations and support from local sponsors. If you would like to sponsor a future OneCompassion event, please visit our Giving page.
Check out how we put our ministries in action during our
6-month OneCompassion Revamp in 2018!
One way we are able to achieve our mission is by responding to current, nominated needs in the community. If you know someone who is continuously trying to build their bridge but just isn't able to make the ends meet, nominate them for our Build Ministry at onecompassion.com/need.
The OneCompassion Mentor Program envisions empowered youth as successful decision makers in our school and community. We are dedicated to strengthening community connections while modeling and developing positive life skills for growth and success. Mentors commit to building a relationship with an assigned mentee throughout the school year. While being supported by OneCompassion staff and the partnering school, mentors: build relationships with mentees; develop students in self-reflection; reinforce lessons learned from a setback; advise mentees on goals and action steps; and celebrate successful steps and accomplishments. If you are interested in being a mentor, apply here.
OneCompassion’s vision is that no family in Johnston County goes without a Christmas. Through our Holiday Ministry, we want families to experience the joy of giving and receiving grace and compassion just as we have. For this reason, we enable parents to bless their own families with a decorated home, Christmas gifts for the entire family, food for Christmas dinner, food for the entire holiday break, and household cleaning and toiletry items. Because of the generous gifts of of last year’s donors, we were able to address the holiday needs of 33 deserving families right here in Johnston County.
OneTable Community Meals
OneTable is a neighborhood event series designed to encourage togetherness, community, inclusiveness and compassion. Join us once a month as we provide a free meal to anyone and everyone in our community! OneTable events take place behind the Paper Co in downtown Clayton (114 W Main St) and each event is family friendly. We invite you to come enjoy community and a free, hot meal! Join around the table or as a OneTable volunteer.
We also want to recognize how much God has multiplied our impact since our beginning in 2015. Here are some of our past events that were the foundation of where are ministries are now:
