Our Ministries

Building Bridges Ministry

Our mission is to glorify God by impacting and developing people by building up the local community. One way we are able to achieve this is by responding to current nominated needs in the community. If you know someone who is continuously trying to build their bridge but just isn't able to make the ends meet, nominate them for our Building Bridges ministry at onecompassion.com/need

Mentor Program

The OneCompassion Mentor Program envisions empowered youth as successful decision makers in our school and community. We are dedicated to strengthening community connections while modeling and developing positive life skills for growth and success. Mentors commit to building a relationship with an assigned mentee throughout the school year. While being supported by OneCompassion staff and the partnering school, mentors: build relationships with mentees; develop students in self-reflection; reinforce lessons learned from a setback; advise mentees on goals and action steps; and celebrate successful steps and accomplishments. If you are interested in being a mentor, apply here.

Holiday Ministry

Because of the generous gifts of of last year’s donors, we were able to address the holiday needs of five deserving families right here in Johnston County. We collected wishlists and sourced many items for holiday care packages from Clayton’s small businesses and purchased meals for each of the families from local favorite, Mannings on Main, giving them a warm dinner to share together on Christmas and Thanksgiving Day. Home essentials, groceries and non-perishables were purchased at Compare Foods, while Christmas trees, wreaths, and gas cards were purchased at Lee’s Produce and T.R. Lee’s Gas.

OneTable Community Meals

OneCompassion will continue to impact and develop even more Johnston County families with care packages, meals, and fellowship, and will be hosting community meals throughout the year. We are also expanding in another way, with our new home at the Paper Co. Building on Main Street. We will continue our community fellowship ministry throughout the year by offering monthly meals out of our new home at the Paper Co. Building. We are so excited for the opportunity to serve in the heart of Downtown Clayton, and we invite you to join around the table or as a OneTable volunteer.

We also want to recognize how much God has multiplied our impact since our beginning in 2015. Here are some of our past events that were the foundation of where are ministries are now:

Many came to enjoy the warm spring weather and join us for the May OneTable free community meal. We had a great turn out as people from all walks of life gathered for a delicious dinner of homemade burgers and hotdogs. Nothing like building good community over good food.
