Incorporating Scripture Into Your Routine!
Incorporating Scripture Into Your Routine!
As summer winds down and the back-to-school rush begins here in Johnston County, it’s a bittersweet time of year. While we might miss those long, lazy nights and carefree vacations, many of us are ready to reestablish a routine. To help make this transition smoother and more meaningful, here are a few creative ways to weave scripture into your home life and the upcoming school year:
- Start the day in TRUTH: Mornings can be hectic, but they’re also a prime opportunity to start the day with positivity and purpose. This year, we’ve decided to simplify our morning routine by giving our bathrooms a thorough cleaning and organizing essentials like hair brushes and toothbrushes. To make the most of our time together, we’re adding a new touch: writing a Bible verse on the mirror. With just a sticky note or a dry-erase marker, we’ll have a verse to memorize and reflect on each morning before school. It’s a simple yet powerful way to instill scripture in our daily lives and set a positive tone for the day ahead.
The scripture we're choosing to do first is Psalms 139:14 "I am fearfully and wonderfully made" to remind them they were created on purpose FOR a purpose.
Add a personal touch to your child's day by slipping notes into their lunchbox or bookbag! This simple gesture is a cute way to let your student know you’re thinking of them while they’re away. While you can certainly find adorable pre-made lunch notes online, there's something so special and nostalgic about the old-fashioned touch of a handwritten note on a napkin. (and it's practically free!) This year, we're planning to write out a lunch-time prayer for each of our kids. Such a fun way to make their day brighter.
Grateful Hearts: Incorporating a Gratitude Circle into your evening routine provides a special way to end the day on a reflective and uplifting note. It’s a wonderful opportunity to connect with your kids and loved ones, celebrate the good things in life, and nurture a spirit of thankfulness that can teach kids to find the silver lining in everything, even a hard day!
How do you weave scripture into your daily routines? We’d love to hear your ideas too! As we embark on this new school year, we're keeping all the teachers, staff, and students in our prayers, wishing everyone a fantastic year filled with growth, learning, and blessings!
