The Heart Behind OneTable Meals.

Sharing our heart, hope, and a little behind the scenes of our monthly community meal, OneTable!

July 2024 OneTable was hosted by Barefoot Lawn Care and My Propane Butler. We're so thankful for their generosity and to have them serve along side us!

OneTable at OneCompassion has become a favorite community event in Johnston County, experiencing incredible growth in 2024. Each month, our team hosts a meal with the goal of fostering fellowship among neighbors. As Psalm 133:1 reminds us, "How good and pleasant it is when brothers live together in unity," this verse deeply inspires our efforts in preparing these gatherings.

Just to give you a bit more insight into our preparation process, we plan our meals a few months in advance and work together with local businesses and sponsors to pick out food and gather volunteers. We switch up our locations each month to make sure we can reach as many people as possible throughout the county as well as .

We are incredibly grateful for the opportunity to collaborate with fellow local businesses who not only endorse our mission but actively join us in serving it. Many of them have generously donated food, beverages, and their time to support those in need.

Additionally, we feel blessed by the dedication of our volunteers who tirelessly assist with tasks such as flipping burgers, setting up tables, and delivering leftovers to homeless shelters and police stations. Most importantly, they engage directly with the community, sitting down to listen to stories and lending a helping hand to overwhelmed mothers. As a team, one of our most cherished moments is witnessing unexpected connections unfold over a shared meal between individuals who might not have crossed paths otherwise. This embodies the spirit of unity and community that drives us forward.. especially when the world feels divided and chaotic.

Our volunteers truly are the heartbeat behind our mission of spreading the gospel throughout JoCo.

Our Next OneTable will be at Smithfield Community Park on August 22. We're proud to partner with Hope Center Ministries to serve pizza and back to school supplies from 5-7 pm. We hope to serve your family one last time before summer ends and the kids go back to school. As a reminder, these meals are open to absolutely anyone.
