Love Your Neighbor: Flower Bouquets

Love Your Neighbor: Flower Bouquets

You might’ve noticed our new series, “Love Your Neighbor,” popping up on the feed. It’s inspired by Matthew 22:39: “Love your neighbor as yourself.” This verse is at the heart if everything we do at OneCompassion.

This week, Lanie’s showing us how to whip up a simple flower arrangement using budget-friendly blooms from her local grocery store. Trader Joe’s and Publix are goldmines for affordable flower options, but you could also grab wildflowers from your yard! If you're feeling a bit crafty, grab a pack of wildflower seeds and start your own little cut garden. Plus, don’t forget to snip some greenery from your yard to mix things up!

The whole idea is to show someone you care without breaking the bank.

Here’s a quick tip: when you arrange your flowers in a vase, cut the stems at an angle for better water absorption, and make sure no leaves are touching the water. This little trick helps keep your flowers fresh for longer.

If you have some ribbon lying around, jazz up your vase a bit! And don’t forget to include a handwritten note—maybe a favorite Bible verse or just a few kind words. Then, drop it off on their porch and voilà—you’ve just brightened someone’s day!

Seriously, this could take you under 10 minutes and make a lasting impact. Your neighbor could be the person next door, a friend who needs a pick-me-up, or even a co-worker you want to surprise.

So, what are some ways you can spread a little love this week?
