Spreading the Gospel without a platform.
Spreading the Gospel without a platform.
In a world saturated with businesses, churches, social media influencers, podcast hosts, and public speakers, it’s easy to think that sharing the gospel requires a platform or a following. However, the essence of spreading the good news lies not in public recognition but in authentic relationships and everyday interactions. Here are some ways to share the gospel without a formal platform!
The Circle Method
First draw a circle with a heart inside of it. This circle represents God’s design and original plan for humanity. God created the world and everything within it to be in perfect harmony with Him and creation. We were meant to be in complete unity and relationship with God.
Draw a second circle with a broken line down the middle. This circle represents the brokenness of our world. There is sin, pain, suffering, disease, and death. This is the reality of sin and its consequences. In Genesis 3, Adam and Eve went against God and ate from the fruit of the tree. They tried to hide their sin which is what we do in this broken world.
The arrows from the second circle represent that in the broken world we try to get out in different ways on our own by trying different things that we believe will bring us joy, love, happiness.
The third circle represents the path to salvation. When we repent (turn away from sin and self-reliance) and surrender ourselves to our savior, we die to ourselves. We can invite Jesus into our lives and believe that He died on the cross for our sins and rose from the dead. When we follow Jesus there is a life transformed by faith on the other side.
2. The Penny Gospel
Grab a penny and walk through this exercise with us!
When you look at a penny, what does it say on the top?
It says “In God we Trust.” This is a statement of faith! There is a God that has proved he is worth trusting, a greater authority than someone here on Earth.
What is the word behind Lincoln’s head?
It says “liberty.” Liberty is another word for freedom. We have free will in the broken world, but true freedom is found in Jesus and submitting to his will for our lives.
On the other side, what does “E. Pluribus Unum” mean?
“E. Pluribus Unum” means “out of many, one.” There are things and people of this world that we idolize and claim as our savior, but there is only one true savior and that is Jesus!
On the bottom of the penny, what does it say?
It says “one cent.” There is only one savior, Jesus, through which we are saved and born again so that we may spend eternity in heaven.
A penny is what shape?
It's round showing that God has no beginning and no end. He is eternal! The penny is simply a reminder of the free gift of salvation that is only available from Jesus!
So cool right? You'll never look at a penny the same again!
3. Share your Story
God uses your story for His glory and your good! It can feel intimidating to step out in boldness and face the potential of being rejected, judged, or ignored, but we are called to advance the kingdom of God. Mark 16:15 says “He said to them, “Go into the world and preach the gospel to all creation.” God will use you as a vessel to make Jesus known and grow the kingdom! Imagine you get to Heaven and someone comes up to you and says, “I’m here because you weren’t afraid to tell me about Jesus.”
Romans 10:14-15 says “How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them? And how can anyone preach unless they are sent? As it is written: “How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!” Let’s step into our calling and allow the Holy Spirit to equip us!
You don’t need a large platform to share the gospel effectively. By living out your faith, building relationships, and being intentional in everyday interactions, you have so many opportunities to make Jesus known! Remember, it’s not about being the loudest voice in the room, we are simply a vessel for the Holy Spirit to move and for Jesus to make himself known. Your everyday life can be a testament to the hope and love found in the gospel, and that can resonate deeply with those around you. Embrace the opportunity to share your faith—one conversation at a time!
