Volunteer Appreciation Month

It's Volunteer Appreciation Month!

April is a special month to us because it's Volunteer Appreciation month and we wouldn't be able to serve the community like we are blessed to without the servant hands and hearts of our Volunteers.

From setting out road signs for our 5K to those warm, welcoming community dinners, we owe a lot of thanks to the folks who roll up their sleeves and pitch in for their fellow neighbor.

Q: Are you always looking for volunteers?

Yes, we need volunteers at every single event we have. OneCompassion is a very small (but mighty!) team that depends on help from the community to make our events successful. Every volunteer plays a vital role in our mission, offering opportunities for all ages and skill sets. Whether you're with us arranging tables, flipping burgers to feed hungry neighbors, sharing heartfelt conversations at our community meals, or spreading holiday cheer by shopping for families in need at Walmart, your contribution makes a tangible difference.

Q: "What events are coming up?"

We're gearing up for a busy and impactful second quarter, starting with our Christmas in July ministry. We work with school social workers in the Johnston County School System to provide essential school supplies, new clothing, shoes, and food to families in need, ensuring their children have a confident start to the school year. To make this a success, we're calling on our community to join us at our local Target and Walmart locations, where volunteers will receive a list to help shop for these families. We anticipate adopting around 75 families, and next month, we'll be calling each family to get sizing and lists for each child. If you'd like to adopt a family or partner with us in any way, please reach out to us at info@onecompassion.com.

Q: How can I learn more about OneCompassion?

In honor of Volunteer Appreciation Month, we are having a dinner on April 8th for all current and any potentially interested volunteers in our community. We would love to share what we're doing, what we have planned, and how you can play a role in it! It'll be from 6:00-7:30 at the Paper Co Warehouse in Downtown Clayton! We would love for you to join us. RSVP HERE.
